5 best thing about input device

INPUT UNITS

In this article we are going to see various types of input device;

  • Keyboard
I have already wrote about keyboard and keys in last article, today we are going to see briefly about keys and it's special features.

Keyboard is also called as QWERTY, as the five alphabets in keyboard.

Take a look at the image below;

The keyboard has 26 letter Alphabets arranged in QWERTY format.

There are two sets of number keys one on the top and another on the right corner, the right side digit key is kept for comfortable.

There are some special character such as !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), _,+,=, <, >, ;, ",{ ,},[, ].

There are some non printable control keys like space bar at the bottom.

There are some function keys F1, to F12.

  • Character reader
Instead of manual data entry the character reader reads fast and doesn't make any mistake.

We can see character reader in Supermarket at billing section and billing section in a dress shop.

We can't read because it is in barcodes only the device can read and give the price given to it.

Character reader is also called as hand held scanner.

  • Magnetic Ink Character Reader
Magnetic Ink Character Reader or MICR is used to scan cheque.

MICR reads the data which is in the background of the cheque, where we can't see it but the device can read it.

At the end of day all cheques read are credited with amount.

  • Barcodes
In order scan we need a device to scan and they scan barcodes, usually bar codes are Black and white.

The black colour has information and white is left as it is.

We do QR scans now a days even that is a type of barcode.
QR is also known as quick response.
